Frequently Asked Questions

West LA Little League (WLALL) is part of California District 25. The leagues of District 25 are in Western Los Angeles County in the cities of Beverly Hills, Culver City, Los Angeles, Malibu, and Santa Monica.

When is Registration? 

Registration for Spring baseball and softball begins in November.  League play and practice for Spring T-Ball, Coach Pitch, and Rookies Softball are from February through May.  League play and practice for all other Spring divisions are from February through early June.  WLALL also offers a Fall Ball program that runs from September through late November. 


When are Evaluations? 

Evaluations are currently scheduled for January 12 & 13, 2019.  All league age 7 year olds and above will be evaluated to determine which division is appropriate for each player.

When are Games and Practices?

T-Ball, Coach Pitch, Rookies Softball, A Baseball: 1 practice per week and 1 game per week.  Practices are held on a weekday after 4pm and games are on Saturday.

All Other Baseball and Softball Divisions: Practices are generally after 4pm on a weekday or on Sundays.  Games are usually during the week after 4pm or on Saturdays.  (Softball may have some Sunday interleague games as well.)

What is the age break-down for WLALL's different divisions?

Division placements always depend on 1) the number of children in each age group, starting with children league age 12 and working its way down and 2) evaluations.  Historically, West LA Little League divisions have been as follows:


Baseball

Majors: Mostly 11 and 12 year olds
Minors AAA: Mostly 9 and 10 year olds, with some 11 year olds
Minors AA:     Mostly 8 year olds, with some 9 year olds
Minors A (machine pitch):       Mostly 7 and 8 year olds
Coach Pitch:  Mostly 6 year olds
T-Ball:             Mostly 4 and 5 year olds

Softball

Juniors: 13 and 14 year olds
Majors: 11 and 12 year olds, with some 10 year olds
Minors: 8 to 11 year olds
Rookies (coach pitch): 5 to 8 year olds

Can I request a teammate or coach?

You may request a teammate or coach for T-Ball, Coach Pitch, Minors A (baseball), and Rookies and Minor Girls Softball.  We will make every effort to accommodate player and coach requests; however, we cannot guarantee that all requests will be fulfilled.

What if I need financial assistance to cover the registration fees?
